Ali MacGraw

Later known for her acting career and in particular for having played the leading role in Love Story in 1970, Ali MacGraw begins to work as a model and collaborates with Moncada in 1967-68 for "Linea Italiana" and for the advertisement for Alitalia.

Alberta Tiburzi

Glamorous Italian model, during the ’60s he worked for the most important photographers becoming herself an famous fashion photographer. With Moncada, she models for "Linea Italiana" between 1968-69.

Celebrated bond girl in 1977 with Sean Connery, the American actress begins her career with Johnny Moncada in 1966 for "Linea Italiana" and for Alitalia airline.

Barbara Bach

Birgitta af Klercker

A famous model of the 60's, she works with many important photographers and with Moncada between 1967-68 for "Linea Italiana".

Buxy Gancia

German model known for her work with Chanel, she works with Johnny Moncada between 1964-65 for "Harper's Bazaar UK" and for advertisement campaigns of Pure New Wool.

Celia Hammond

English model, worked for "Vogue" and for famous photographers. With Moncada, she models for “The Tatler” in 1963.

Deborah Dixon

A very popular model in 1960s, worked in fashion magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar and photographed with famous European painters, actors, directors, writers – Marcello Mastroianni, Federico Fellini, Giuseppe Patroni Griffi. She worked with Moncada in 1964 for Harper's Bazaar UK.

Denise Sarrault

French model, among the most famous in the 50's and 60's. She works with important photographers such as Helmut Newton, Jeanloup Sieff, and Robert Doisneau. During the 50's she works for Hubert de Givenchy and meets Joan Whelan who will become a lifetime friend and future wife of Johnny Moncada.  In 1998 she published Denise Sarrault. La Passante, edited by Centre de Documentació i Museu Tèxtil of Terrassa (Barcellona), with texts by Hubert de Givenchy, Catherine Ormen, Jean-Noël Liaut and Jean Paul Najar. For Moncada she works for many years and her photos for "Harper's Bazaar UK" in 1965 are of special importance.

 

 

 

Grace Coddington

A famous British model of the 60’s, she works for the important fashion magazines. She is currently the Creative Director of "American Vogue" magazine. After nineteen years as Photo Editor with "British Vogue", she moved to New York to work for Calvin Klein. In July 1988, she joined Anna Wintour at "American Vogue", where she remains the magazine's Creative Director.

She works with Johnny Moncada in 1964 for "Harper's Bazaar UK" .

Hiroko Matsumoto

Known as Miss Hiroko, she was the first ever Japanese model for a French clothing collection. Pierre Cardin met and fell in love with Matsumoto in 1960 during a trip to Japan. She would eventually follow him to Paris where she was Cardin's top model. In 1970, Matsumoto played the prominent part of Kyoko, the Japanese lover, in French director François Truffaut's movie Bed and Board.

She works with Johnny Moncada in the '60's.

Iris Bianchi

Italian model of the 50's and 60's, she works for many famous photographers and magazines.

With Moncada she works for the "New York Times Magazine" in 1962, Luisa Spagnoli between 1956-65, and "Linea Italiana” between 1968-69.

Isa Stoppi

Known as the Italian Marilyn Monroe, she works for Johnny Moncada between 1967-68 for "Linea Italiana".

Jean Shrimpton

British top model present on many "Vogue" and "Harper's Bazaar" covers from the 60’s and 70’s. She worked with Moncada in 1969 for Venus cosmetic advertisement.
 

Elegant model from the 50's working with Henry Clarke, Regina Relang and many others. In 1952 she models with Hubert de Givenchy and always for Christian Dior and Cristobal Balenciaga. Wife of Johnny Moncada, she met him while working for Emilio Pucci. Some shots of the model with Emilio Pucci dresses are published in the book Pucci, edited by Taschen in 2010, curated by Armando Chitolina, Vanessa Friedman and Alessandra Arezzi Boza.

With the photographer she models for Luisa Spagnoli between 1956-65, and for Alitalia.

Mirella Petteni

Is one the most important Italian models of her time, posing for Irving Penn and Richard Avedon. Moncada works intensively with her especially between 1967-68. They worked for Roccobarocco published in "Linea Italiana" in 1967 and for Eve of Rome.

Nico

Christa Päffgen, known as Nico, was a singer, songwriter, musician, model and German actress. She had roles in several films, including Federico Fellini’s La Dolce Vita (1960) and Andy Warhol’s Chelsea Girl (1966).

He collaborated with the Velvet Underground before starting his solo career.

She worked with Johnny Moncada in 1958-1960 for Luisa Spagnoli's collections.

Pupa Baldieri

She became famous for the Permaflex advertisement. In 1964 she worked with Johnny Moncada for "Harper's Bazaar UK", for Alitalia and Litex.

Veruschka

Vera Gottliebe Anna von Lehndorff-Steinort, know as Veruschka, is the first top model of the history of fashion. Moncada began to work with her at the beginning of her career shooting for "Harper's Bazaar UK" between 1963-64. They worked in Capri, Bracciano, Sardinia, Florence, and in the Rome studio. A book, From Vera to Veruschka. The Unseen Photographs by Johnny Moncada, edited by Rizzoli International and due out in March 2014, collects some of these shots, with texts by Veruschka, Hamish Bowles, Franca Sozzani, Antonio Monfreda, Massimo di Forti and Valentina Moncada.

In addition to the above models, Johnny Moncada worked with Rosanna Armani, Daniela Bianchi, Colleen Corby, Nicole de la Marge, Mariolina Della Gatta, Marlu GreisbergerPia Nascimento, Elma Lorenzioni, Nicoletta Machiavelli, Betsy Mottet, Paulette and Rita Verbini.
